is it just me or has alot more people became interested in women lead singers in rock lately such as lacuna coil, evanesence, flyleaf and others i personally think that they add more variety and are very enjoyable to listen to..

Yeah, women are great. I like men lead singers more because that is what I've grown up with. That is if you don't count veruca salt, sneaker pimps, kittie, garbage, k's choice, or joydrop....Yea, I like the female vocalists.

I really like the sound of the bands you named. I agree it does add a variety to the sound of rock. a lot of rock has been the same for so long it is getting boring. I am glad to hear some diversity now. Flyleaf and Lacuna Coil are two of my favorite bands right now, but they still don't compare to good old Maynard from TOOL.

Have you been watching the show Supernova? It is the rock reality show with Tommy Lee, Jason Newsted, and Gilby Clark. They are looking for a new singer and two of the last five contestants are women. It would be nice to see one of them win it. Ever since I first say Lita Ford, I thought chiccs could rock the house and have always wondered why there are so few.

There aren't more women lead singers in rock today than there were in the 60s and 70s, but you are probably more awared of today's singers, which makes it seem that there are more now.
Consider Exene Cervenka, Janis Joplin, Diana Krall - to name some diverse female singers. All amazing; all gettin' old or already dead, but very influential. And before that, we had the plethora of black singers, including the very influential Sarah Vaughn.
