Because they're not Bees!

Wasps don't have any wax making capabilities like bees, and like most insects their primary contribution is the same as butterflies and bees ect ect. They transport pollen.

adult wasps don't actually get any nutrients from the animals they kill, or their 'prey', they use their venom to kill it then inplant their larvae which will then eat the prey from the inside out as they develop.

Wasps still get most of their nutrients from necter.

Interestingly (or not!) whereas bees create their hives from their wax, wasps chew soft wood, mixing it with their spit to create a paper like structure which explains why people tend to find wasp nests in their roofs.

Because it's not their job! Bees have this purpose, but what a wasp's purpose is, I have no idea. Probably to scare the crap out of people!

Because they're nasty, vicious little creatures. I will always leave bees alone and help them out of the house unharmed. I kill wasps on sight.
