You know why they put oxygen masks on planes?
Oxygen gets you high. In a catastrophic emergency, you're taking giant panicked breaths. Suddenly you become euphoric, docile. You accept your fate. It's all right here. Emergency water landing - 600 miles an hour. Blank faces, calm as Hindu cows.

It becomes quite toxic, because oxygen is very reactive. Also, metals corrode and rust much faster, and fires burn out of control.

nothing if you are well...if you are unwell then you will feel much better becuase of increased oxygen delivery to the tissues
side-effects of 100% oxygen are lung damage secondary to oxygen toxicity (with prolonged usage), as well as retinal damage in premature babies (retinopathy of prematurity)
