I had vaginismus for which my husband filed a divorce suit after 9 months of marriage. From the beginning I have been noticing his quarrelsome attitude not only with me but also with others, and most importantly his parents. He treated me very badly...so badly that he would have even killed me. Basically he is a very ill-tempered and impatient person who lacks subtlety. He has kind of a very gross, materialistic outlook. He has toyed a lot of girls before my marriage with him. He does not understand that a relationship of a husband and wife has more to it than only sex. And...another thing - my in-laws have kept all my gold and now denying the fact that they have all of it. This is the result of trusting the in-laws. Anyway...

I really don't think it's because of your vaginismus alone. I think he has other, more deep seated issues than that, mainly a lack of respect and love for u as a person in general. I'm sorry he treated u that way but be assured that you are now free from this kind of abusive marriage. To answer your original question: If a husband is dealing with a wife who has this disorder, the wife has the duty to educate him about it because he may never understand what it is and how bad it can affect their sex life.

Your question seems to be more about venting over the in-laws and convincing yourself that your husband isn't the debonair prince you thought you were getting. Sounds like your husband is a first class jerk, but vaginismus is tough to deal with - some men just can't/aren't willing to handle the complicated issues.
Remember, men are sexual beings. When their needs aren't being met, they get frustrated. Particularly men who know what they're missing.
I know that vaginismus is not your fault, but now that you will seemingly be back on your own, resolve your vaginismus issues before entering into another long-term relationship.

Hi T123, You know it's this kind of stuff that men do and pull , That makes me want to beat the hell out of them.If that bastard really love you, and you have a medical problem he would be more understanding and would stick by your side.All your husband wants is to satisfy his needs,and doesn't care about anything else. I would get a lawyer and get what ever you can out of this jerk.Your lawyer will try and make him pay for your lawyers cost,and court cost.I would also go after your so called in-laws and get your gold back to. Why things like this pissy me off, I have and still am going through the same thing you are.I am disable and raised his daughter from age 2yrs.from his first marriage, with mind and his 2 daughters we had while we were marry.He left it up to me to raise his daughter and had nothing to do with her at all.He said,he didn't have time to do anything with her.He said,I have to work all the time.He had the evening free and weekends.I was screw screw and screw again.Then i find out that he marry me for a live in babysitter, and i have my own house to boot.I was just sick when i found out.For 30yrs. i live with him thinking he love me.I walk out and file for a divorce.So i really know how most men are.

Never heard of your particular ailment. Maybe 'vaginitis'? Anyway, it sounds as if you should be glad to part from this marriage early however unfortunately. To remain doesnt sound like a very loving atmosphere. What would be your regret? To start over? That happens unfortunately. Im so sorry.
