Shop vac and spray bottle with water and maybe a small amount of laundry detergent. Oxyclean has a bleaching agent so stay away from all of those spot cleaning chems.

For a quick fix, I recommend Folex. Since your rug is white, you probably will have to steam clean it more often than you would a darker rug, so it is up to you whether you want to do that now or wait until later. If your user name is anything to go by, there will be plenty more stains coming your way...

get a wet ordry vacuum, then sears has an attachment you can do your own steam cleaning by connecting to your sink hot water.
cheap, easy and does the trick. or get a can of spray on spot remover and vacuum.teach the 2 how much fun it is to clean their messes.

"Shout" carpet spray is really good at getting the job done however it is so hard to find these days. When I find it again on the stores shelves, I'm buying more than one bottle.

For me I use a steam cleaner, it eject steam hot enough to remove even oil stain.
