I think you mean, "plagued", as in "Why do I have to have this disease". If that is what you mean, the reason is because you are a human being. The human species needs children to continue to exist. To make sure we have children, our bodies have strong sexual desires and women have strong desires to have children.
If we all behaved as God wants us to behave, it wouldn't be a curse or plague, it would be a great blessing and gift to us. It is because we disobey God that it seems like a plague,

Do you really mean pledged or plagued?
I truly feel there is no such thing as being plagued. A healthy sexual life is good.
But to be pledged is like your parents arraigned a marriage for you.

God created you as a sexual being. There is a scripture in the book of Solomon that says, "Don't wake my love, let her sleep." This verse is not just referring to a woman, it is referring to his sexual awareness. If you don't experiment, if you don't participate in heavy petting involving arousal, you can put it back to sleep until you are ready to marry. This is not easy, and there will be a while that your body tries to rule your will, but it is possible.
