I'm going to say this til I'm blue in the face. It's the duopoly that polarizes the country and therefore presses voters to vote Rep or Dem. Third parties and independents lose many voters that are registered as so but vote for Dems or Reps or don't vote at all. And I'll be jumping on one leg if the Libertarian candidate in TX district #22 wins the seat. Maybe Delay's screwup could cost the Republicans the House majority if things are very tight. I hope it does!

Row vs Wade was the starting point. People who believed this is immoral and believed most of what the Democratic platform was at that time decided they could not back that kind of thing. Many had problems with the family breaking up with the woman leaving the home and divorce all of which blossomed out of the womens movement, probably caused by men not being fair to women for, well pretty much for ever. Also there is the idea that states should have more of a say in their own laws. through all this in a bag with other stuff and you get two partys vying for votes from these varias groups. The party packed different groups together, like labor, women, centralized Gov. for Dems and states rights, family issues, anti abortion, which drew the christian comunity in, free trade for the rep. All these issues have a middle ground that could have been reconciled but instead of working these things out our parties wanted to keep their own base in tact so they inflamed these issues until we have these two groups at each others throats, and in walks corporate America and they fan the flames so their lobbies can be more successful. Obviously kids should not get abortions and probably there could have been a midle ground, women should get equal pay and opportunity and pay (still do not have it ) and child care could have been made more acceptable like subsidizing the groups worried about that. If the parties lose their issues the base can move around and the people behind the scenes then can not control things. So it is in the interest of a lot of people to keep us apart. Think about it what sense does it make for the party who champions the disenfranchised to suport late term abortion. Whose best interest is it in for two family members to work full time. Not the family people no it is the large employers. It is a real mess.

There are so many problems that need to be solved. People have strong opinions and when religion comes into play their opinions grow stronger. It's a choice (to them) of god or something else. The religous choose god because they believe they will be rewarded for it. The nonbelievers dont back down because they believe the government cannot make decisions that will effect everyone based on religous beliefs that a large portion of the country does not subscribe to. The religous say our country was founded on christian values, however, I seem to remember from history class that our forfathers decided that the church and state would be seperate. they were liberal, they wanted to be liberated (free) from england.

I think when one group is privileged and the others get the scraps, if any, it pisses people off!
I hear people on here say" Well what do you want to do, redistribute the wealth?" Well, yea! They don't take in account who gets the tax cuts and no bid contracts, and who doesn't! We get left a 8.5 TRILLION deficit that WE have to pay! The wealth has been redistributed too long! That is why it is where it is!
Bush's phony war, his lies, his inability to go by laws or treaties. and the body bags tend to wear on you after a while!
I was in Vietnam, and this continued BS brings back a lot of bad memories!! And it does for a lot of my brothers!

Democrats tend to aim their propaganda at young impressionable minds that feel a liberal ideaology is right. Anyone one under 30 that isn't a liberal has no heart, and anyone over 30 that isn't a conservative has no brain. Winston Churchill. But when they reach an age they are thinkng in terms of family and country they become more conservative and dislike liberal ideology.

It's done on purpose by Republicans so that Democrats lose elections. It works too, small minded people will not vote for Democrats because they believe the political propaganda spewed out by Republicans.

not George Bush it is what some a lot of human beings chosen to think of. human beings constantly filter out reality contained in the direction of the prism of a temporal and myopic expertise. the real worldwide is a little extra complicated. Sir William Maxwell Aitken mentioned it terrific: “adult males on their area might desire to stress themselves for a on a similar time as to place their notions with the help of and start to familiarize themselves with information.” the US difficulty began with the chilly conflict. opposition to Communism became disastrous for the US image. The Soviets with the aid of their brokers and enablers interior the West controlled to color each and every act with the help of the US as aggressive and opposed and each damaging occurence worldwide extensive through fact the fault of the US.

Because it takes far less effort to attack or dismiss an entire group, rather than actually taking the time to think about and address the underlying issues on the merits.

because half of americans are wrong but all americans believe that they are right. nobody accepts the possibility that the other person could be right because nobody even bothers to put evidence in their arguments anymore. They think their arguements are obvious, but they are scared to work them out because it might prove themselves wrong. if everyone just went a few steps further with their reasoning they might see that there is the possibility that they are wrong.
