I would have to write a whole book listing the places you can go in Germany. Everywhere from Berlin from Munich has plenty of stuff going on. If you take the trains (and the trains can get you nearly anywhere in Germany), take a pit stop in Cologne to see the huge cathedral just outside the train station. Don't forgot to hit a volksfest while in Germany if you can't hit Oktoberfest, they are all over Germany at different times and are like mini-Oktoberfests that are less crowded.
Here's one that's not in the most of guides though. There's the Kreuzberg monastary near Wildflicken that sells Kreuzberg beer, which has been rated as some of the best beer in the world , but you can't get anywhere else and doesn't travel well.

Any castle, which there is an abundance of. You can't go down the road without seeing some kind of ruins of one on a hill.
If you are going within the next month, try to go to the Burg Frankenstein outside of Darmstadt. It's the castle that inspired Mary Shelly to write the novel, and during the Halloween season they have it as a haunted castle. They dress up as all sorts of monsters and mingle with the crowd. Will stand right behind you and scare the living daylights out of you!!!! Great fun!!
I'd eat as much German food as I could, too, because it's the best. Sight see whatever you can during the day and go to the clubs at night. Those are awesome, too. Germany is a beautiful place and whatever you do will be memorable!!

do mean Germany? The islands are really nice, Hamburg is nice for shopping. Bremen is authentic. But that is all up north. Most people go to the middle part. Cologne (Kéulen) is nice for going out and shopping with an authentic old citycenter. Really nice. And ofcourse Berlin.... that is GREAT with its monumental buildings and Checkpoint Charlie at the former wall. Have fun!
