Did your son ever watch Laverne and Shirley, Saved By the Bell, or Family Matters?
The title of King of the nerds is a prized title that should go to a person that deserves it. My nominees are Squiggy, Screech and Steve Urkel, all accomplished nerds in their own right.
As for Spock he is more of a geek than a nerd, and by that i mean he is one dimensional, all science, no anythingelse. I am surprised they did not give him a pocket protector to go along with his tricorder, which by the way looked gay, so gay that they did away with it in future series. It looked like a handbag. Plus, he always walked around like he had a stick up his butt. Perhaps he spent too much time in navigation with Sulu. That might explain it.
Now Kirk, he was the man. He slept with every imaginal species he could. Sure he talked like he had a speech problem, never saying more than three words at a time, but; he was a shag master. He got more trim than a pine tree at Christmas. Sure, he couldn't fight, but that is the censor's fault. At least he wasn't as bad as Batman, (Biff, Boffo, Zap, Bowie).
So, tell your son to ease off the Trekkies. They are everywhere. Live long and prosper.

Spock may be a nerd, but surely Kirk is the King of womanising, getting in fist-fights and getting his own way come hell or high water? He's the ultimate icon.

i think of Angelina Jolie mentioned it perfect: "i became focused on Spock... he became so repressed, and that i merely wanted to make him scream." I could agree. area of the charm of Spock is his repression, this sort of feeling that he ought to be initiated and coaxed into letting go and relishing contained in the distant places excitement- that that's passionate, uncooked, illogical. In my fantasies, a minimum of, Spock is neither an attentive/delicate lover, nor a dominant/tough one. he's rather no longer that on top of issues the two way. yet while it happens, he's *very* in contact, and not tough in step with se, no longer in a unsleeping way, yet merely soo grew to become on that he does not have lots administration to be sluggish or delicate. that's a great style of me being lively and teasing him jointly as he's passive, too. desire that facilitates!

I would agree with you for saying that. But only in the sense that nerds worship them as royalty. Otherwise, they're OK. At that point, they were just looking for a job. I guess they weren't expecting to have so much of the nations middle aged, "big boned" group of people to idolize them.
