I was just wondering if anyone knows or has personnel experience that being attractive helps you to get up in the corporate ladder? or effects your pay or any other element of your work in anyway, even if negatively. (Legal Executive student)

There have been many surveys done on this. This answer is always yes.
ABC did a newscast about it, even using a hidden camera. The answer again was yes.

i opt to 2d Lioness in this one: In prominent company international (do not you merely love that word?) you desire more beneficial than a nod out of your manager. Any position that comprises quite mountaineering, as adversarial to answering telephones and handing over messages and sending faxes, calls for more beneficial than a nod from a more beneficial. Why do you imagine on line colleges for operating adults (yet another tremendous catchphrase) are booming, right this moment? because anybody desires an MBA, to boot to a slew of alternative, certain skills, to move up. Seniority in a static position is out the door. those human beings get their 2% a year, until eventually someone decrease on the pay scale takes their spot. also, managers who have a tendency to employ too many hotties are without delay suspect. revenues and promoting are the in worry-free words variety of positions the position being especially flirty or alluring enables, in view that anybody knows that individuals like to purchase issues from especially human beings. also, strong success making use of that frame of mind in a marketplace like banking, the position the whole crew is overwhelmingly lady. yet it really is merely it: we 'listen' quite lots about this concern, even if it merely doesn't ensue that way at a real earning aspect.

Yep it does. I've actually gotten most of my jobs because someone found me attractive. I've kept them by being a very hard worker. The thing is that once someone has their eye on you and it's favorable then it's pretty easy to make them notice what you are doing and have them be impressed by it. Of course, it also doesn't hurt to have a boss that you could concieveably sue for harassment. On the negative side, there's lots of people who would like to tear you down for being undeserving because of an "ornamental" status.

Good Question:
But I've interviewed so many people that experience has
taught me one thing....
Being "attractive" has become something I'm blind to.

Your question poses many ideas, and "preconceived notions".
Race, religion, age, color, gender, sexual orientation, experience, are not a factor... nor is being "attractive".

I value experience based on common sense, and intuitiveness.
If you have these traits.. you peak my interest.
Pay rates, education, all factor into my decision making process.

As a legal student, obviously female, ask yourself this...
does It work both ways?

You are a student...
so am I...

We all are!!

Thank you.

I think to be attractive helps, because in certain way you could get more attention from the people and all depends what kind a job you are applying for and how you use your beauty. But been smart and wise could let you everywhere you want, let me tell you, could let you get attention from everybody too.But If a company choose a worker for her/his been attractive ,it could let them fail. There are lots of people who are success and are not attractive.

If you open your legs to the right person. I think that it has all to do with how indisposable you make yorself to the company. I am the case in point I got this job by making myself seem indisposable at the interview.
