The Mount Lofty Ranges are the range of mountains to the east of Adelaide in South Australia, stretching from the southernmost point of the Fleurieu Peninsula at Cape Jervis northwards for over 300 kilometres before petering out north of Peterborough.The part of the ranges nearest Adelaide is also called the Adelaide Hills.

i believe the city to which you refer is adelaide although the cities of wallaroo and peterborough are close by the range. but i think the one you want is adelaide. thanks for the question.
