What did the various American Governments do for the black person in America right after the civil war?

Various American Governments? When did we have more than one government? If you are talking about the separation of powers between the state and federal level then each state did different things for the black person. Please explain your question better to get better responses.

You should really do your own homework.
1st the where was only one American government after the civil was and that wasn't retrieved until 1789. Primarily it abolished slavery, "promised every citizen 40 acres ans a mule". You might want to actually read the constitution to discover what percent of the 40 acres he really was allowed to keep under the constitution.
The only actual thing the government (s) federal and state gave the black man was his right to use his own free will;and none of this 350 years of monetary preparation's BS (ah, and now every other ethic groups wants free money, a house and a sports car).
Now are you smart enough to figure out why free
will was the best gift the black man could have been given? Some how I don't think you know enough world or American history to divine the answer. Or the intellect. But I've given you too many clues....already. Read up on the Rise and Fall o the Roman Empire. Once you understand the true meaning of SPQR and not it's translation you may impress you school teacher year.

Right after the Civil War, in the South, they gave all black males, of age, the vote and let them run for office. That was one way the Republicans kept control of congress after the war, and was also the reason the K.K.K. was formed. Although it initially opened the door for black males, that door was quickly shut in the South for over eighty years.
