It won't turn into fat, but it will shrink and be covered by fat. The main reason is that to gain muscle you need to eat a lot more than you normally would. If you stop working out your body and continue eating the same amount, there will be no place for the energy to go but into storage. But it won't hurt you to work out regularly, so why not just keep on doing it? You needn't remain an Olympic athlete, but you should stay in shape. Good night!

Here is an example, if you work out regularly for 6 months, it will only take 3 months to loose everything you gained. If nothing else try to workout 3 days a week for 30 minutes. Atleast you won't loose everything.

No muscle does not "turn into" fat.
The muscle atrophies (gets smaller and weaker) while at the same time your bodies fat content begins to increase.

Absolutely. Fitness will generally start to degrade after as little as 3 days of inactivity.
