It used to be that a person could only get a divorce under the 3 A's: adultry, abuse, and abandonment. Now there is a growing number of reasons to file divorces and it's getting easier to get divorced then to get married!!!! And what is the purpose of saying wedding vows if they aren't enforcable in the court of law?

I think if wedding vows were taking more seriously, especially in the courts, the divorce rate would plummet through the floor.

By the way, I am recently divorced and my ex tried the whole "irreconcilable differences" thing. Problem is that I had proof the is was I, not her that tried to work things out.

I take my vows very seriously as I always only ever planned to get married once and once only it has been. It is easy to get a divorce yes but as the joke says, Why are divorces so expensive? Because they're worth it! In some instances is so true. I see people together these days who only got together for one of two reasons, for fear of being alone or because they fell in love with the idea of being in love. This happens to people too emotionally young to understand what they are feeling or people to scared to sort out their feelings. I think if you don't want to be in that relationship then you should not be forced to maintain that relationship, irreconcilable differences is very real and in my opinion a geniune reason. You don't know what promises were made to one of the inhabitants of a marriage that wasn't followed through, we don't live in glass houses so we cannot judge what one person should put up with or give up on. Just my opinion but I stand by it.

If you haven't lived through a divorce...or a bad marriage ....then you may not fully know why there may be irreconcilable differences....i myself had to file under irreconcilable differences due to the court not considering VERBAL and MENTAL abuse...a form of abuse at all!....my best friend did the same because her ex would not cheat but was often seen at a homosexual bar in a christian town and everyone was tormenting her children...its best to leave the irreconcilable differences to the ones filing for a divorce.

It doesn't matter. You can't stop what makes money. Like porn, hookers, drugs, alcohol, cigarettes, abortion, guns, it goes on and on...

Barbra Striesan too. :)

People are just trading up like stepping stones because no one cares. It's a cashflow problem. Must be a tight economy.
