You can have as many doctorates as you can afford and have time to complete there is nothing wrong with wanting to further your education in many fields...never limit yourself...but I suggest one doctorate and maybe a few masters lol...no but get your doctorate then masters in your minor and if you want to later...go back and get your doctorate in that and maybe master in something else. Sounds like a plan to me...

It doesn't make sense to pursue another doctorate degree. If you're interested in a different area of research after obtaining one doctorate degree then consider doing post-graduate research in that area. Presumable after completing a doctorate you're very adept at learning and almost any prof would welcome a post-doc if he/she has the funding to support one.

Why do that? Just make sure that the school you're applying to will allow you to do that. UC is against that kind of thing.
