Obviously no one here understands that you've chosen two very Italian male names. I think they're great, though I guess the others' responses indicate the "troubles" Andrea will face. I think in the long run it will help your sons stand out.

First of all, congratulations on your twins! :) I hope you have a safe and easy delivery, and that the boys are both healthy.

Now, on to your question. I know that Andrea Boccelli, the blind singer, is a man. However, he was also born and raised in Italy, where that name is known to be a male name (as well as a female).

However, if you are an American, I would humbly advise that you NOT name your son Andrea. In this country, Andrea is simply not a known or generally acceptable male name. I know you might not like that fact, but it's just the way it is. Sorry. :( Nothing personal!

Did you want Andrea to be a girl?

Why not Andre. I also know a guy names Andreas. But I only know chicks named Andrea.

Otherwise, I mean, Francesco. Sure. Everybody named Frank is cool as heck.

Andrea sounds girly. What about Francis and Andrew?

Sorry to say but Francesco and Andrea sound a bit feminine. You do not want them to get beat up in school.. You should cut it to Franco and Andre...It's completely up to you though.. Congratulations!!
