Not the same document.

The Magna Carta Liberatum was written in the early 13th century as a document describing the fundamental liberties that a govt should provide for its people. It has influenced British law since then.

The Bill of Rights refers to the first 10 Amendments of the US Constitution, ratified in 1791 just a few years after the Constitution itself. There are similarities in concept, and some common elements in both lists.

The Magna Carta is a British document, and the Bill of Rights is American. The Magna Carta was written in 1215, and formed the basis for the British government ever since. The basic idea of a contract between the authority (the King) and the citizens, where the citizens have rights and the King must rule by law and not exceed certain limits -- that was the new thing. A King, formerly unconstrained, now rules within the limits of a written contract with his people.

When the American Constitution was written in 1787, this concept of the rule of law was incorporated. The very idea of a written Constitution, ratified by the states and serving as the defining structure of the nation, came from the Magna Carta. The Bill of Rights was added (the first ten Amendments to the Constitution) because the states were not willing to ratify the Constitution without some guarantees concerning the rights of individuals within this structure.

Does this answer your question? Both documents are worthy of intense study in their own right, although the Magna Carta is old enough that the language has changed. But do research this whole side of history: it is worth your time.

Magna Carta-signed by King James in 1215 to lower the king's power in Parliment.

Bill of Rights-composed to ensure the rights of the people and later were used to form the Amendments that we have today

I'm pretty sure I'm right.
