Yes it is more ceremonial nowadays. Still the official Ambassador for the country. and no law is official unless it bears the royal seal. Also still supposed to look after the well being of the nation and its people as a whole.

The Royal Family in England is basically just the worlds most famous celebrities. The Queen has very little power. Parliament and the Prime Minister (Tony Blair) are the true government of England. Arnold Swartzenneiger has more responsibilities in the US than Queen Elizabeth has in England.

If Charles continues to be alive whilst his mom dies, he often is the subsequent Monarch. If he's not, the Crown will bypass to Prince Wiliam. If he's not alive, or if he has no criminal situation, then the throne is going to Prince Harry. there's a nicely accepted protocol that instruments with regard to the subsequent 20 or so human beings in line to the throne, and the order wherein they rank. In my opinion, not much. She does have a say in things but its parliment who have most of the power.
Personally though she would probably run the country better than Tony Blair.
Also please ignore spamahoy's comment, us British don't think that, plus she's old, do you honestly think she would create her own army. Next time answer question relating to your country and stop guessing about how people in other countries think.

Ceremonial, not quite as little as what she has here in Australia, but pretty close.
However, in Britain, lots of people respect the Royal persons, so what they say still carries considerable weight.

I don't think anybody really knows for sure.
There are people in the U.K. that have seriously said they are afraid if she were deposed she has so much money she could raise her own army and take the country back by force. So I do think they are somewhat intimidated by her if nothing else.

The royals have influence rather than power. They can focus attention on causes. During a crises they can be reassuring. Politically its all for show.

Any power which she has is too much power. She is not elected, she does not act for the people.
