Recently spent a month in Kenya and Tanzania - it was incredibly hot, there had been no measurable rain - but did see all the animals that Africa has - however, South Africa would have been a better choice plus the safaris are just as good there. Hope this helps.:)

I've heard that Mombasa in Kenya is amazing and also in Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town in South Africa are beautiful as well.
