Always be thankful when other people give you praise - its the polite thing to do, and it shows that you respect their opinion. At the same time, recognize others who have had a part in your success. For example, mention your parents, people who studied with you, a teacher, God or something else - this way you won't seem too proud/agressive.

If you succeed, that means you have worked hard and deserve to be praised! Don't ignore praise, it was meant to be received! You are not being agressive or proud if you say thank you, you are simply being polite =)

It depends on the society that you're in. In the US, it would be good to smile, say "Thank you" and be humble. In other societies, the best thing to do is to refuse the praise and avoid being singled out.
Also, appraisal is different than praise. Praise is when someone says something good about you. Appraisal is when someone measures something.

it is not always people receive praises. so if you received them, it means that they have acknowledged your ability. welcome them wholeheartedly and thank them and say a word or two for their gestures. UNLESS, they have praised you for something which is NOT the direct result of your true success, then, you may want to tell them, that you made due to so and so or something like that.

Be happy and accept them, just make sure that you do not show arrogance or pride when you receive them,

of course it feels good to receive praise, we all know that. i think that people should accept compliments. what's wrong with that? Especially if we know we've done a good thing. praise is wonderful.

Pat yourself on the back - you've earned it. Just be polite, say thank you or acknowledge their appraisals. And then do even better the next time, make sure you don't stop now.

When someone is praising you, humbly say thank you. Ignoring it might mean something negative to them.
