You first need to get authorization to work there from the authorities. There are a lot of online organizations for people in your position!..

Hello. I am, like you, a person who wanted to work in London. There are a number of ways, the best and most secure is to apply for a short term working visa before you leave. You cold come here and enter on a visa with no work allowed, but this means if you do work and you are caught, you will be deported. I am now living in London and I agree it is a wonderful and exciting city. Ask you local British Embassy what is possible for you. Or go to the Home Office Web site.

YES there are jobs for a chef !
WE NEED CHEFS IN UK very much !
Food in UK was terrible before but now with the
chefs from abroad UK restaurants are quite good !
Infact as a customer UK is a very good place to eat out !
(cheaper for me to eat out than buy in supermarket)
Maybe you will get free accommodation with your job as
the salary is little compared to the rent.
If you are a good chef you will have no problems !
But don't be put off if one restaurant is no good to you
there are many restaurants !
Maybe later on you will set up your own restaurant then
stay forever ! Maybe you can teach salsa dancing, as UK
people like this a lot now !
Good luck to you !
As for permission apparently you can enter Spain,
as Argentina has an agreement then in Spain easy to
get to UK on a plane and it is about 20 euros (the plane
is the only reasonable price thing in Europe so easy to
travel and find work here).
Have a good trip !

First get a working visa at the equivalent of your Home Office or the British Embassy in Buenos Aires to arrange some help. Most people in the catering trade get jobs from friends and word of mouth.

Good luck.

Be prepared ! 22% tax, 11% national insurance, rent(minimum £100 per week in London), council tax, high gas and electric bills, then you have food, clothes,TV licence, road tax if you have a car, petrol at 97pence a litre, water rates, etc.etc. To live and work in London and have a decent standard of life, you need to be earning £500-£600 per week ! Good luck,my friend.

try www.jobcentreplus.com

It's another badlyc constructed Government site but bear with it and you'll find all the jobs advertised in UK job centres. You'll be able to select the type of job and locality too, although I often get jobs come up from outside of London.

Go to London and apply for a position at a restaurant. If the owner likes your cooking, he will sponsor your stay there.
