What is there to do in San Francisco?

Me & my boyfriend are going there tomorrow for the day. We have a budget of $100 dollars. No bars or anything, we are under 21. Please help! We have been to Alcatraz already, we want something new! best answer and detailed gets points!!

We've also been to the Wax Museum, and whatever pier that bubba gumps is on.

OK, you could go to The Exploratorium near The Marina - Golden Gate park is spectacular and free - in the park is the Conservatory - just went there last week and it was really beautiful - it cost a couple of $ to get in - you can wander around and see all the ponds and flora and fauna but being that you are young you will most likely really enjoy the butterfly room - the butterflies will even land on your head, shoulders, whatever and also on all the lovely plants - everybody loves butterflies - really cool.

You can also visit the Japanese Tea Garden - there is a small entrance fee - you can have tea and cookies or not but it is fun to walk all around -

All these things are in Golden Gate Park - you can even rent bicycles - so have a great time - hope this helps! :)

First of all, you should take BART if at all possible, because the eastbound Bay Bridge is closed, and there are major traffic problems on the Golden gate and San Mateo bridges.

I second the ideas to go to golden gate park. There are museums, gardens, and more, which are cheap and will leave money for dinner.

If you want to go shopping, there is of course Union Square. And for dinner, I strongly suggest that you avoind the chain restaurants like Bubba Gumps, and take advantage of the glorious San Francisco restaurant scene. If you like garlic, you'll love The Stinking Rose. If you love Italian food, you MUST go to North Beach, lots of little restaurants that are all unique.

No matter what you do you are bound to have a blast. Don't forget your thick sweater... I was there tonight with a sweatshirt and I was still freezing.

Well cable cars are $5.00 a person (get a transfer-then you can catch a bus back in the general direction for free). San Francisco is a walking town with hills so if you are physically fit you can have a ball. Like going to Grace Cathedral and walking the maze? (Its free) Or taking the walking tour of the Castro (its free) Or taking the glass elevator to the top of hotel on California Street (Fairmont Hotel) (its free) and a great view. You can check sfwalkingtours.com online and see what they have they have available for walking tours of san francisco or just take a bus up Polk Street to Fisherman's Wharf to the Museums (they are free)(the art museums are free too) that way you can save the bucks for dinner or whatever. But dress warmly, it can be downright chilly in the City by the Bay at Night.

It's open tomorrow, but closed on Labor Day (Monday).

By the way, the lower deck of the Bay Bridge (goes to Oakland) is CLOSED all weekend for seismic retrofit construction. So, if you are driving and you need to get OUT of SF tomorrow, you need to take some other route e.g. the Golden Gate Bridge or drive down the peninsula.

Walk around Fisherman's Wharf, take the 49 mile drive, go to the beach, Asian Art Musuem, rent a boat at Stow Lake, Botanical Gardens, Leigon of Honor, try different restaurants (Chinatown for Chinese food, North Beach for Italian, Mission for Mexican/Spanish, Japantown for Japanese, Tenderloin for Vietnamese, etc.), get a nice view of the city at Coit Tower or at Twin Peaks, take a walk down Lombard Street (most crookedest street in the world), go shopping in Downtown, walk the Golden Gate Bridge, etc. Hope you have fun!
