Most people don't, but I consider them equal in a lot of ways. They are as equally alive as we are. They are as equally sensitive as we are (perhaps about different things, but they are). They also feel pain as equally as we do. However, they are not as equally intelligent, but being more intelligent doesn't make you better than anyone else.

I wouldn't put my Yorkie above my family or anything. If I had to choose between the dog and the kids, I'd choose the kids (even though I'd probably regret it later, lol).

i don't consider my pets equal.. i put them above people.. even above myself..if me and my ferret were sick, i'd bring her to the vets before i went to the doctors.
