Personlly I think Megadeth should have the fame over Metallica. They have kept their true sound. Unlike Metallica...who decided to get rid of solos! WTF! Metallica tried to change with the times...which ruined them. Not to mention James Hetfield cant really hold his vocals on stage anymore as compared to Mustaine. Don't get me wrong...metallica is FKIN awsome.

Hey Man..
Well, I'm a big fan of Metallica that they'll never lose really:P, but sometimes we really need to have moments we say the truth in it.
We don't need to mind the rivalry between Metallica and Megadeth and try to figure out who did well and won the battle (if we consider the reason Mustaine formed Megadeth)..
Both 2 have got great music and were so influental and all, but Metallica were seduced by Big Time Record Lables and they were convinced to change the way of their music by record producers like: Bob Rock..
The turn up in Megadeth is that Megadeth saved their way of music from the sudden changes unlike Metallica.. That made Megadeth look greater in the eye of the dedicated old fan who liked Thrash Music.
Metallica changed and that made em more popular but Old fans hated em.. So Metallica Paid the old fans in order to buy commercial success.. and Megadeth paid commercial success to buy old fans' satisfaction...
and that doesn't mean that Megadeth isn't commercially successful, but not successful like Metallica.
I don't like the way of the new music of Metallica, there's no solos nothing, I'm looking foreward to the future works of either bands.

I like them both. The people bashing the Tallica sound change should go listen to Risk or Cryptic Writings. Besides, how many lineup changes has Dave had in the last five years? All I know is that back in the day, Metallica was light years ahead of Megadeth. Neither band is anywhere close to what they were. Love to hear some metal from both these guys but I doubt it will happen.

I grew up on Megadeth and Metallica, but I never liked Megadeth. I saw them last year, and left in the middle of the performance because I just couldn't get into them. I'm not crazy about Metallica anymore, I only ever really liked a few songs anyway.
I'm not proud to admit that the only metal I listen to (the only music I listen to, in fact) is more contemporary thrashy/power/prog/death/black metal.

Love them both.... however not a big fan of the 'new' Metallica. I am huge fans on both bands so it is hard for me to say I favor one over the other.... but early Metallica is just too Genius to ignore.
Metallica's Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning are higher on the totem pole in my book than Peace Sells..., ..and So far, So good, etc.

Very no longer undemanding question yet surely metallica they have the perfect album sales and perfect song in my opinion my 2nd is megadeth i mean sweating bullets and symphony of destruction ideal!! thrid is slayer if every physique doesnt comprehend slayer pay attention to the album reign in blood ull get hooked for existence and 4th anthrax There considered one of my widespread the madhouse album is the perfect one and that i admire a number of those bands yet thats the order i think of they are in perfect to worse

Megadeth! They have stayed true to metal (Risk excluded) Unlike Metallica who have time and time again sold out to be "MTV friendly" - Words from Lars's mouth.

Metallica just hasn't been the same since they got sober. The last piece of crap CD I bought of theirs... St. Anger., I listened to it one time and now use it as a coaster.
Metallica before the black album was the best there was.
