First of all, people have been convinced the world is going to end soon pretty much since the world began.

Second of all, if you think 2006 is the worst year yet, you obviously weren't alive during the Vietnam War.

Historically, depending on what you're using for measurement, there have been worse years. I do not think it will be the end of the world -- barring a meteor or similar extraterrestrial nasty -- but our planet and our human culture as a whole is going through radical changes. What will come of it -- how all this is going to turn out -- is still up in the air.

Personally, I am not ready to give up all hope.

4 now, i think it is the worst yr... however iv been thinking each year is the worst since 2004... dunno mayb 2007 will break the records... end of the world... i dont know if its within 100 yrs, but i think its relatively close...
