You're not very clear on your question...
buy 2 LAN card plug in both computer, then connect both LAN card with data cable
There's just many ways to connect computer, including with radio.

first of all you need a network interface cars (NIC) then cable for connecting and a suitable OS (prefarably XP) for easier use. then got to configure one as server and another as client with ip-addressing. if you do all the things xactly go to network neighborhood and see entire network and you should see the computers that are connected to network.

One is crossover LAN cable or another is LAPLINK cable.
There are variety of laplink cables, the inexpensive is laplink parallel or serial cable.
