I need to findout the ragas for a 20 odd songs. i know the tunes and i have then as sheet music as well (piano) but i need to find these tunes ragas so that i can print em in the book that am making. Could someone please help me with this? even some useful ideas will be so greatful.
And yes these songs were originaly made in some ragas but too old that we've lost the names of their ragas.

I guess I don't understand the question (and probably shouldn't be opinionating) but ...
Are you from India or referring to the music of India? I used to have Ravi Shankar sitar records. Some of the song titles were "Morning Raga" or Evening Raga", or something to that effect. I thought ragas was a type of Indian music and that certain ragas were for certain periods of the day. I'm probably way off.

One can normally find ragas by hearing the sanchara,i.e,from the song one can get the arohanavarohanas and thus find the raga. If you have the notes of each song,you can find the ragaby knowing the arohana & avarohana.To get the name the raga,here is a link:http://www.carnatic.com/carnatic/ragalist.htm

Hey its ya boy King Penn, I know that I love music and I appreciate it also but when I hear something that is new or old and I fell its a hit I usually go with my first thought or just keep ticking till I cant tock anymore . if you ever get stuck put your own flavor to it every one loves there own cooking you dig!
