Oh without a doubt.
Bush said that America was "addicted to oil," yet he forgot to mention that he is the "pusher."

Our feeble president has an identity crisis with God and needs a few more AA meetings....and yes I do believe there are several Oil Mafia imbedded in the White House. We are not addicted to Oil...The 'Good Ol Boys' are just greedy and backed heavily by mafia people What GW has done is opened the door to all out Holy Wars.

Of course. The problem also is that the U.S. consume more than they can produce, so excuses have to be made up to guarantee the oil flow. Take a look at Sweden, they plan to stop using oil for households, heating, etc. by 2010 using only biomass. Cars will take a little longer, you can't force every Swede to buy a new car by 2010, but they don't drive 6 or 8 cylinder cars which need so much gas to run as in th U.S.

Bush isn't pushing everybody to drive cars to work, and for companies to haul things with trucks, they just do it anyway.
You know, when oil prices are down, oil companies lose lots of money. They have to make it up when times are good. They will be bad again, then they will be good again. And so on.
