Go take a pregnacy test to see if you are pregnant before you give yourself a nervous break down. Because when a woman wants to be pregnant, beleive it or not you can convince your body of carrying a baby.

The first two weeks after conception, before most women know they are pregnant, is not a dangerous time for exposure of this kind. When you have to start worrying, is after implantation when the placental starts to develop. Before that, the cells aren't affected by things like alcohol, cold medication or pain killers,

Now, even though it is only 2 weeks since conception, you would have been considered 4 weeks pregnant at the time. Gestational age is based on the cycle length, not the amount of time since conception. So while a baby takes 38 weeks to grow, every pregnancy is medically 40 weeks long.

What is important in those first two weeks before the placenta begins to develop is that the mother's body is not depleted of vitamins and minerals like folic acid and iodine. If you live in the Western world, bread, flour and salt are enriched with these to prevent birth defects, so it isn't a big worry unless you eat very poorly.

Some doctors are starting to recommend that all women of child-bearing age should take pre-natal vitamins even if they aren't planning to get pregnant. Certainly, all women who are planning or actively trying to get pregnant should start taking prenatal vitamins even before they conceive. You can read about that issue here: http://www.babylune.com/the-good-news-about-vitamins/

The most important thing, though, is that you can't go back in time to change anything about how you conceived and the condition of your body then. You can only look forward and be as good to yourself as possible. That means eat only healthy foods, don't smoke, or drink, and take a good general prenatal vitamin from today until you finish breastfeeding.

And congratulations! Have a happy, healthy 9 months.
