by the way, the guy above me listed super famicon games, not super nintendo games. while those are good games he chose, a few aren't available in the states on the hard super nintendo system, such as final fantasy 3, final fantasy 5, or dragon quest

For the SNES:
* Final Fantasy (my favorites are 3 or 5 and Mystic Quest)
* Dragon Quest
* Lufia
* Robotrek
* Ultima VII
There are plenty others. You can't go wrong with Squaresoft/Enix games. Also to add to the list is "Arcana", which is in a league of its own.
For the N64:
* Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
* Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
* Jet Force Gemini (Action RPG)
* Quest 64
* Xena Warrior Princess: Talisman of Fate (Action RPG)
The N64 ones are my "personal" favorites and are the only RPGs that I know of for the console. Ocarina of Time is the best dang RPG I've played, and I've played a LOT.
