amount of hatred...and prejudice there is on here...I thought that we were past that --that we were making progress in our evolution and in our acceptance of other races and cultures..but in all of these related sites I see one race constantly insulting another race who are insulting another race, etc etc...and then the religious people get on here and they hate homosexuals and other religions or the act of homosexuality........Maybe I should have posted this question as to why is there so much hate in the world. I dont live in the US but I hear this terrible racist tension and religious zealots against each other....Come on...we're all just people trying to get through our lives and doing the best we can...can't we just get along a little better? Our future is in our hands --isn't it time we started taking a little responsibilty for it?

Yes, it is pretty amazing. Before signing up on Y!A, I temporarily forgot the amount of bigotry and fear that exists in this world.

Perhaps this could partially be accounted for by the number of really young people here. Kids can be especially mean and careless at times. (Have to admit, I'd prefer to forget many of the ignorant and obnoxious things I did and said as a teenager.)

I have not been keeping up with the celebrity questions, so maybe this has been done, but it could be a good idea if some celebrities were to ask your question ("how can we make hatred/racism/sexism/homophobia go away" or something like that), and maybe awaken people to the fact that bigotry is really lame.

Perhaps a series of questions, each relating on specific "isms" could be posed over a month's time.

(and maybe Yahoo could give the promo some catchy name or tagline... eh, you know like "hate is nothing"... not a good example, but you get the idea.)

It might be good for this issue to get some really serious publicity, because in reality, although "offensive" material can get deleted off the site, that's just an uphill battle that will go on forever.

Fighting the symptom is not going to be as effective as fighting the cause: tolerance needs to be made a part of the Y!A culture.

Da,
I feel you on this; I really do; the other day I answered some question as to why don't all black americans go back to Africa and why don't they feel grateful for being here? I really had to think on that; perhaps I should have just ignored it but I also feel that sometimes folks just don't have a clue as to why they feel the way they do so you have to tell them how the other is; I cannot tell you how it is to be in your shoes nor can you me; I am a religious person, but I won't sit here and judge gays either because that isn't my job. if anything, we need to pray for one another and live peaceably. then perhaps one can learn from the other. I work at one of the easiest jobs around, but I'm ready to leave it because of the narrowmindedness of the folks there; I have seen folks ran off the job due to it and it hurts my feelings; I seen these two young ladies work real hard there and because of one person belittling another person, the lady left; that made me so angry. I wish things would get better, but I know it won't. the Bible predicted this.

The site is open to everyone

We all have opinions and view, these opinions and views are reflected in the questions asked and the answers given.

In an ideal world there would be no prejudice, conflict or hatred. Alas we do not live in an ideal world.

Yes what you say is true. But it's not our fault , you may not like to hear it but we are all being programed to feel the way we do. We are receiving subliminal messages everyday to make us feel a certain way. It's all part of a program set up to foil Americans and the American way of life! Like it or not the information is available to anyone , if you give a darn your next step would be looking up this info.

It takes all kinds to make this world. Only when there is evil can you distinguish it from the good. Moto should be to take in the good and reject the remains.
