to kingreef: yeah because parents having sex is just a big no no. isn't that a contradiction? hello! you can;t have kids without sex and you have to have a 'sexualized atmosphere' for sex to occur.

to the question: be honest with them. tell them a lot of people choose to be one way, but you choose to be this way. and that's the beauty of america- choice. maybe we can't choose our presidents anymore but we can choose who we love.

Yes. Kids crave normality. You have a logical explanation to give your children, but kids aren't logical creatures. They just want to be normal. It would mess up their lives. I am all for the freedom to live as you choose, UNTIL you have children. Then everything changes. You have a responsibilty to them. You know this deep down in your heart. I am the most liberal person ever. I believe people should be free to live their lives as they choose. However, I have seen enough to know that when you bring kids into the mix, everything changes. I work with troubled kids, and every single one of them come from an "unconventional" family situation. Give up 18 years of your life to give your kids a chance at normality. You have plenty of time to explore yourself after your kids are grown. I don't want to believe this is true, but I see it with my own eyes every day.

Depends how they are with Children, How your boys would feel about this arrangement, and how their daughter feels about it. The kids well fare has to take top priority in all circumstances.

I don't think so --depending on your children's ages...children are far more elastic in their thinking than we give them credit for...Sounds like an interesting alternate lifestyle. Good Luck.

candy,
I think that it would. I would be cautious not to provide a sexualized atmosphere. It really works on a kid. At least, it did me. Not good at all.

i am sure they would be confused, but you can deal with that down the road. as long as you are honest with them it should be fine.
