Marriage is a more complicated arrangement. Yes, it involves and utilizes sex. However, it evolved more like a business and/or political arrangement between families. (How else do you explain marriage to a dead person that was common in China at some point).

No, I think there is definitely more to marriage than just sex. Sure, physical contact becomes a big part of marriage, but I wouldn't say it rests solely on the act.

I'd say marriage is simply a traditional bond between two people. Who's to say if it lasts or not but we know at one time two people were happy with one another.
