Yeah I agree with you about Nirvana Mitch, But i knew that if i didnt exclude them, Id get a million Nirvana answers.

green day influenced almost the entire punk scene. they're more influential than nirvana. how many grunge bands are there today? i love nirvana but they're only still around because cobain killed himself when they were at their peak.

Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Alice In Chains if we're talking about the grunge movement!
Another kick a ss band of a different genre was Rage Against the Machine!

If you're talking about bands that rocked the 90s, it would have to be Guns N' Roses and maybe Metallica. If you're talking about bands formed in the 90s, there are not many but I think Soundgarden and Stone Temple Pilots will do.

Green Day they influenced bands like Sum 41 and Simple Plan and yes i know Simple Plan shouldnt have been influenced so we wouldnt have to put up with the whining voice but im sure we'll all get over it

Smashing Pumpkins is a big one on the rock scene.

Spice Girls on the pop scene as they perfected the image of the girl group.

TLC on the hip/hop scene.

And Dru Hill on the R&B scene.

But overall, it has got to be Smashing Pumpkins. No one captured the pain of the "victims of divorce" generation better than they did.

And Tonight, tonight remains a fav across all divisions. Tell me one person who hates that song. I have yet to find one.
