The plan has been followed and is almost complete. It is based on Clinton's 1998 Iraq Liberation Act:
1) Oust Saddam's Government by force
2) Establish a democratic form of government in Iraq, allowing the Iraqi people to elect their representatives.
3) In accordance with the Geneva Conventions, retain a force there as long as needed for the Iraqis to develop their own security forces.
If we do not 'stay the course', Iraq will experience what Afghanistan did in the 1990s when the CIA pulled out after helping defeat the Soviets. Surely we have learned from that mistake!

First of all the plan was to defeat Saddams army-done, Secondly to capture Saddam-done, third is to help rebuild Iraqs infrastructure and help them establish a stable government-getting there. Staying the course means to follow through and not allow Iraqs new government to be destroyed by militant Islamic fundamentalists. Iraqs armed forces and police must become strong enough to do this on their own.

Stay forever thats the idea. We have been involved with Iraq for 20 or more years with gulf war one and air patrols over them until operation change the mission when convient started, We are there to control the oil, thats why Shell and Exxon Mobil are rebuilding the oil fields, the oil is vital to us, it is a huge field and we haven't planned for alternative fuels. plus many other reasons, anyways we are there until the puppet government is strong and then we will still have some bases there.

I'm sure there was a not-very-well-thought-out plan that has turned out to be impossible. Stay the course means having our troops stay there and die for no apparent reason until W is out of office and the trouble he's caused is not his to deal with anymore.

There were two plans. What i am about to say is true, give it a thumbs down all you want.
three actually........but only two real ones considered by the administration.
the first plan was drawn up by Cheney during the closed door engery meetings, it was basically plans to secure oil ect ect
the second plan which was drawn up by Grover Norquist was to about copyright laws, and privitizing all of Iraqs government resources, and creating a tax system for Iraq.....
apperently when the plan wasn't implemented by the Gen. in charge first of iraq he was retired after saying the oil fields belong to the people of iraq. we got paul bremmer next and he put the plan into place.
the third plan if your wondering was drawn up by former exiles and came out of the state dept. it was how to secure iraq, control looting, keep the electricy and water running, how to keep order, how to maintain a level of food supply......ect ect ect.......it even called for an interm government. within a year....... of course this plan was ignored it was tossed asside? why? you'll have to wait for the trial....
staying the course means controling the oil flow, not to increase but to control amount in the world in order to create record profits,
for the OPEC cartel and in turn for these countries to buy bonds so we can have our tax cuts.
great source of information on many many topics from elections to iraq and oil and specifically iraq war plans.long but worth it.
Iraq plan at 39 min in.
