It depends on which situation are you in. Farts can be fun & rewarding if you feel bloated but it can be nasty & repulsive if you're in a formal setting like an office meeting.

As remarked by all the answers farts are an object of fun. But not fun but rather ridicule. Moreover as they are the outward emanations are internal trouble they expose you i.e. if they are noisys and all your protestations of dieting fall flat.If the source is somebody higher up it is,however, difficult to show disapproval and even an irrestible laugh welling up from within has to be suppressed often with difficulty. If on the other hand if the Queen farts the King can abandon her solemnly swearing that he never farts and it tests all the ingenuity of a minister to elecit a confession from the king that he is also guilty.. However, if they pass out without making a noise everybody in the company looks at the other with suspicion as if he is a terrorist about whose existence among us is revealed but not identify.
Did I hear a lound noise of wind blowing? Cover up your noses not ears.

Depends. I mean, if an adult did it at a business meeting, nasty and repulsive would be the concensus. But my 9 year old and 4 year old son make a hobby out of it!

Nasty (other peoples farts) and rewarding (in the car lock the windows, everyone gets pissed, and you have humored yourself).

Both! They smell terrible, the sound will get everyone's attention, the look on someone's face when you've just pooted is priceless, blaming someone else is always fun, if you ignite a lighter to your butt you can see a real explosion, and to feels soooo good!
