If youve already explained yourself and they still didn't believe you, just let it slide. The truth will come out sooner or later. I've seen this happen sooo many times. Don't sweat it.

Quite possibly someone told your friend a bunch of BS. A lot of folks thrive on drama and get their jollies out of messing up other peoples lives and relationships. I suggest u take a hard look at the people that your friend hangs around and when u find someone that likes to gossip and backstab others you have found the one who told the lie. Tell your friend u werent talking about them and not to believe everything they hear. You could also confront the person u suspect of telling the lies and just ask "why did u do it?" You have a better chance of getting to the bottom of this than just asking them "if" they were talking bs to your friend; that makes it just too easy to lie their way out of it and say they didnt. Do it my way and when they start stammering u know u got the right person. Then get your friend and the BS artist together and hopefully your friend will see what the truth is. It doesnt always work like that though; some ppl believe what they want to believe even when there is evidence to the contrary. Good luck!

Hey ,friendships are based on trust. If you have already discussed it ,and they still don't believe you ,then maybe your better off without them as a so called "friend". One way i have learned to stop all the she said/he said crap, is to gather all the people involved together , face to face, and set things straight. Saves a lot of time and effort, trust me. Some people will make things up if they decide that they no longer want to be friends with you. Your "friend" may have been looking for an excuse to sever ties with you. Don't sweat the small stuff in life, it causes wrinkles! Peace2U

I wonder why your friend thought you were talking about him/her behind their back? What did they think you were saying about them?

Sounds like your friend might be feeling a bit paranoid at the moment.

Or maybe they are not really a friend - just one of the people in a wider circle of people you mix with.

If its the latter - don't worry about it. But if they are a real friend, try and talk to them to find out what they are worried about and why they would worry about you talking about them.

Kick them in the shin and run away!
In all honesty do you really want to remain friends with said individual if they treat you like that? All relationships are based on trust, if they don't trust you then they are not worth the bother and you should cut you're losses and not get wound up over it. Who needs enemies when you're so called mates do this...
