California State universities are good for someone who needs a diploma. If your goal in the life is to have a nice frame with a diploma then SD is good. If you wish to enjoy the years in college - SD is good.

But, if you wish to do something in your life - go to a serious university - Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Cornel. Don't just go to a place where you can easily get in. Go to aplace where you can get the knowledge and make contacts with people to enable you in your life.

Good school - good party school. It is hard to get into tho. Unless you have a really high GPA, you might want to do Jr. College and then transfer in as a Jr.

Lets put it this way, it's not a bad school. It more known for being a party school than being a good academic school.

And as far as being hard to get into, its one of the hardest CSUs to get into because everyone wants to go to SD. Why not, it's beautiful.

My advice: Go to UCSD to get a quality education and party with state kids on weekends.
