It depends on what it is that Lady Macbeth influences Macbeth on. For example, on the murder of Duncan, Lady Macbeth was the one that persuaded Macbeth to go through with the murder even after he wanted to back out, so her influence on him in regards to the murder is enormous. Macbeth has a conscience and it seems as though Lady Macbeth does not, since she does not care for the consequences of her actions and the morality of what she is doing.
But after Macbeth becomes King, her influence on him lessens and his actions are mostly due to his own ambitions and greed. So in a sense, Lady Macbeth was a very important factor to get Macbeth going but her importance diminishes after he gains power.

Macbeth would never have had the guts to murder duncan without his wife's insistent attitude. After her death Macbeth went bonkers becuz he no longer had her influence and dominating force in his life. There would be no story without her.

I think that she was the whole reason that Macbeth became twisted in the first place. It's been a while since i read that. Read that my senior year of high school.

She was pretty influential. I mean, for one thing she was his wife. And he was reluctant to do anything in the first place; she pushed him in the direction she wanted. Lady Macbeth had ambitions and she didn't think through to the consequences of their actions.
