You don't have to be a history major or work at Progressive to realize the world is getting better.
Some folks say, "Back in the old days, people were more committed." Not true. Fine, they stayed in the marriage, but that doesn't mean they were happy. The only thing changed is that upon 2000, people started marriaging for the soulmate and happiness. Is that a bad thing?
"The moral values have declined." What moral values? From the dawn of time people had sex before marriage. And I'm not talking the 1600s. Look at the 1960s. Were they all virgins before marriage? The only thing that changed upon 2000 is that women could be more openly promiscious and confident in their short skirts and tops. Is confidence a bad thing?
What history books have you studied that proves that morals have declined? And if so, why have they? Maybe if people from the "olden days" would set a better example... but, old jealous folks are just a bunch of hypocrites.

You might like this:
"The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. "
Plato said that Socrates said that about the youth about 2400 years ago.

I totally agree with you. the "back in the days" comments are riddled with hypocritically envy...at least I think. Moral decline, I can see why the older generation may say that. In part, I guess because woman and men are both more free to express their sexuality without the shame that was placed on past generations. And I think some people go a bite far but I am not God so I will not judge. I think the older generation views the modern woman as a (use your imagination) and the modern man as a (again fill in the blank). I feel that the older generation sees what they want to see from this generation. We have many talented peers that are blazing a trail for a better America you just have to want to see it. You are so right about the 60's. Those people got freaky deaky back in those days...somebody say rabbit. Today sex comes with so many complications it is almost not worth it (wrap it, or zap it). However, back then (1960 & 70's for that matter) it was free love without the complications that plague today. Hmmm...who got the short end of that stick. OUR GENERATION!

My heavens, I in no way have been flashed, yet I did accidentally flash some individuals as quickly as. i became interior the well being middle a while back and desperate to take a stoll to the merchandising section. nicely, I wasn't questioning approximately what i became donning and, permit's in simple terms say that those well being middle robes do not go away plenty to the mind's eye on the backside. The nurse got here up from at the back of me and placed a blanket over my shoulders . . . i became questioning why it became a splash drafty back there!

From your response, and your grammer, I am guessing you to be about 14 -16. Before you go off on a tirade about "back in the old days", it might help for you to check your facts and then get them straight. The divorce rate has trippled since my era, mini skirts were not from the year 2000, they were made public in the late 50's (I'm sure you've heard of retro), and morals and values were taught not only by our parents, but our teachers, grandparents, and clergy members as well.
We have been on this planet decades longer than you have. We have watched the moral decay of generation upon generation. This has nothing to do with confidence! It has to do with a lack of respect and intolerance of other human beings. See, in our day, please and thank you went a long way. The simple words of apology actually meant you were sorry for what you did. Very rarely do we see that in today's generation. It's "gimme gimme gimme, I gotta have it NOW, I'm better than you, I'll have sex when I want and why I want because I think I know more than you do, then I'll have three babies by the time I'm 20 and live off your hard earned tax money because my babys' daddys can't get a job to pay child support!"
That, my dear, is why we refer to the "old days" in such high regard. After all these generations have put us through, I think we deserve that right! Do me a favor, print your question, store it away and then read it in another twenty or thirty years. You will think exactly the way we do now...with the eyes and knowledge of someone who knows better!
Good luck on your journey through life...I truly hope you go through it with your eyes open.

there has always been and will be, people who think the"good old days" were better. You can find quotes by Socrates complaining about the "youngsters"
just don't get "defensive" usually people who do and show disrespect to older people are the ones who BECOME the old, bitter complainers...
let it go and rise above it- it's a great "life skill"
