if you ever noticed, while in a room, with even just two people or more, you will always find an idealist and a realist in some kind of debate or attraction?

An idealist needs some of the realist's realism to stay grounded, and the realist needs some of the idealism of the idealist to look up once in awhile and realize possibilities. They complement one another and turn keys in each other's personalities.

This question belongs in the Philosophy section, not Chemistry.
Each of them has differing opinions on government, world affairs, the economy etc. , so it makes sense that they would want to talk and share opinions. It is boring to talk to someone who shares and agrees with all your opinions, because all they do is agree with you. Searching out someone who has a difference of opinion is more intellectually stimulating.

it is the eternal need to be accepted for ones opinion that is so far fetched from our own...it is an aphrodisiac to get to a common ground with some one who is so different from ourselves.
