I don't think so, it was only added to the Pledge around 50 years ago during the Cold War to try to put America on the high ground against the 'Godless Commies'
But I think that is a poor excuse, the seperation of church and states is an important component of the founding father's wishes that everyone can practice their personal believes without prejudice. Not everyone believes in God and they have that right and shouldn't be required to do so if they don't want to.
In addition "In God We Trust" on American money was originally "In Gold We Trust", changed for similar reasons.

No it shouldn't because it does go against the first Amendment which is the freedom of religion and that part is making you say "Under God" when some people believe in multiple Gods. It could also be optional because everyone is use to it now and maybe just those people who want to say that part should and who ever doesn't want to then they shouldn't have to.

I agree. It is not a matter of whether you believe in God or not (I for one do not), it is a matter of tradition and remembering who founded this country and what they stood for. You don't have to be a believer to say the anthem, and saying the anthem doesn't mean you are now beholden to anyones god - but it is showing respect to our forefathers, the people who shed blood to allow us the freedoms that we now take for granted.

Absolutely Yes. And we should stop being so politically correct. If atheists have a problem they can go jump in the sea.

Lets assume we take it out. Will the kids be all crazy and have orgies and same sex unions and worship the devil? Then it won't be any different then it is now. Don't fix what ain't broken.
