right now they are saying the is something in cannabis that helps prevent lung cancer. (I kid you not)

There is none of any scientific importance.

The chemical is well know as the active ingredient of Marijuana.

Its chemistry is well known. Its effects on the brain are well known.

There is no important trend here.
