good thing your not doing the ballot, at least Republicans went to school and were taught to spell. As an evil CONSERVATIVE, it does not mean literally conservative with everything such as resources, money etc... It means Governmentally conservative, meaning less Government... Democrats want big brother to come bail them out at every corner; welfare, aid, medicare, pro-choice. So they want Republicans to stop spending money in a war that will happen whether we pull out or not so the Government has more to spend on people who do not believe in Capitalism and would rather have facism. If you want to vote democrat in 08, then get a platform. Being anti-republican is not a party platform and is why you have lost in the last two elections. IF you don't like it, France is always a flight away. Enjoy!

Because the Neo-Conservative movement abandoned the fiscal conservative model. A large central federal government is too useful for advancing their social agenda, a trick learned from the Democrats.
That's why many of the more rational fiscal conservatives have abandoned the Republican party. Just why many of the fiscal moderates have abandoned the Democratic party.
Think wisely. Vote Libertarian.

What does spending money have to do with political conservatism? Anyone who votes Republican is an idiot and so is anyone voting Democrat! Anyone needing proof of that just needs to read your question.
Anyone who is interested in bringing back lawful Gov't and true freedom and equality to this country will vote Libertarian or Constitutionalist.

Many Conservatives are asking that same question. We're sick of the politicians who pander to the voters, and we're fed up with the RINOs (Republican In Name Only)
The solution as we see it, is not to vote for Democrats, (Who are truly clueless where economics are concerned) but to work hard at replacing the Republican posers with true Conservatives in the primaries, as viable alternatives appear. Look at what's happening to Lincoln Chaffee...

The Republicans in office right now are horrible. They've mixed the crazy social politics of the right with the spend-crazy politics of the left. It's the worst of both world's. These guys aren't true Republicans. I have some respect for true Republicans.

The answer is that GWB is NOT A REAL CONSERVATIVE. It is true that he has some Conservative views, but on many issues he has failed to govern as a Conservative. He has failed on a variety of issues like domestic oil drilling, to no school vouchers, but that said he is still no where near as liberal as Algore or John (I Served In Vietnam) Kerry. He was the lesser of the evil that we had to chose form.

They have certainly lost any chance to label themselves fiscally conservative for the foreseeable future. They have become what Gingrich despised, and to their own detriment. Thay may as well slit their own throats in the town square. They have lost all credibility.

Republicans don't count money that's spent (wasted) on defense (war), only social programs.
