Both are violently rotating storms (usually counterclockwise). Tornadoes are usually less than 1 mile in diameter -- most are less than few hundred yards in diameter. Hurricanes can be 100's of miles in diameter.

The shifting winds of a hurricane often produce tornadoes over land. Many times the strongest tornadoes are embedded in or close to the eye wall of the storm.I've been through seven since 1989. (hurricanes that is)

I suppose a hurricane can support the conditions needed for a tornado but really, they are quite different.

They aren't related. The only thing they have in common are that they are very destructive. Hurricanes form in the water. Tornadoes are from wind.

I feel that the 2 are related because both are caused because of warm air and cooler air clashing which causes the spinning, difference is tornadoes are cause with war and cold air and hurricanes are warm air and cool ocean current

well, they are a little bit the same but otherwise, tornado is formed in the land while hurricane is formed in water

they are both rotating storm systems. tornados can be spawned from hurricanes.
