I was wondering what movie you liked more....

Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas or Where the Buffalo Roam?
They were both great movies based on Hunter S. Thompson.

Kalifornia or Natural Born Killers?
Both were great movies with great serial killer theme.

Oh Daniel, you are a sick dude. I used to like really good downer films but the urge to merge with blood, gore, extreme drug and alcohol abuse and "doing" buffalos, went thataway. I did see Kalifornia and it held me from beginning to end but in the end, it seemed pointless. And Juliet Lewis needs a new act. She is a good actress but too confined in the looney bad girl roles. I avoided NBK because of the press info - too violent. Didn't see "Fear" because of the extreme down per reviews. Now that we know Robert Downey Jr. was probably loaded, can we still appreciate his performance? WBR is an oldie, I think, late 60s or early 70s? Doesn't ring a bell except for the title. Actor Jeff Bridges comes to mind. Great, underappreciated actor. Liked the fact that Hunter S. Thompson made decision to leave this life when it no longer served him.
So, seen any good "feel good" movies lately?

Fear and Loathing was much closer to what Hunter S Thompson wrote as opposed to
Where the Buffalo Roam, plus Bill Murray was very miscast. I did not get the sincere "Gonzo" feel that i did from FaL in Las Vegas.

For sheer brutality and message, NBK was far better than Kalifornia, but i prefer the latter as far as watchability goes.

Actually, a very good Question!

I didn't see either of the first two, but I did see the second two.

I liked natural born killers the best. This may sound weird, but I really dug the love story in that movie. They may not have been what you would call good citizens, but they were partners no matter what. The song "Sweet Jane" from that movie emphasizes that point. Ok, so probably not the response you were looking for - but what the heck.

Of the four you listed, I saw only "Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas". It was outrageous! I am a big Johnny Depp fan anyway. His performance in this movie was over the top. Very "out-there" movie, but I highly recommend it.
