I'm 11 years old and I know all about rape and the fact that it can happen to anyone. I used to not worry about it, until my my mother told me she was raped. twice. when she was 12. I knew it that it happens, but I didn't relize how much it did. I'm going to middle school this year, I'm so scared that I'm going to be raped. So many of the older kids at my school are always talking about sex. And there only 12! It depresses me, the way the world is. AND DON'T TELL ME I'M TOO YOUNG!!! I really need the help!

You don;t need to be constantly afraid, be wary of men and be aware whats around you. Just because your mother was raped doesn't mean you will be. Don't stay out late, even if your friends do, don't wear provocative clothing. Some men are just disgusting and they get pleasure from hurting girls and it sucks
but they're around and have been around for hundreds of years
so its up to you to take the first step to avoid being singled out, which also means if a car stops close to you and a man calls you over, you run away. But don't ruin your life for fear.of rape which might never ever happen.

I feel for you, I really do. You kids lose your innocence at such a young age. It is really a shame. The only advice I can give you is that there are always going to be bad people in this world and you have to make sure you don't let yourself get drawn into those kind of situations where you will find yourself a victim. Get proactive! Take self defense classes and don't be embarrased to talk to your parents if something does happen. Also don't let this take your life over. Remember, these types of predators feed off of fear. Just be prepared and be safe!

men rape women because they like to feel dominant. They like knowing that they are in control and that the girl cant do anything about it, it gets them off, it makes them horny knowing that they have forcing some innocent girl to have sex with them. People are so sick. Just because your mom got raped, doesnt mean that you will be. And also, just because kids talk about sex, doesnt mean they are talking about rape, nor do they want to rape someone. There are many self-defense classes you can take (possibly now, or at an older age) and i dont know if your mom would let you, but carry around mase, then if someone does sneak up on you, you can spray it in their eyes and blind them, giving you a chance to get away. Just stay away from places with not alot of people around, dont stay out after its dark, and if your really scared, walk home with someone, or walk to school with someone, always have someone around with you, trust me, it makes me feel safe too. Good luck, and dont worry babe, you'll be fine!

The world has always been like this and will always be like this. As long there are pathetic human beings out there who can't control their own urges or who lack self-esteem and self-confidence and want to take advantage of others crimes will happen.

If you live in fear of that you are never going to live life. At the same time take all the precautions you can. Being a guy, I can say that not all men rape. There are a few out there that do it. The vast majority don't.

i actually did a term paper on that subject in college. men rape out of power&control. its very seldom a strictly sexual thing. maybe your mother shouldnt have told you about her experience until you were older and more mature to understand the subject. no use in being afraid all of the time, just be smart about where you go and the situations you put yourself in. if your mother is a single parent and has men coming to your house?? be very careful because acquaintence rape is more probable than stanger rape. and statistics show that a non-parental man in the household increases the chances that a young teenage girl could be raped. if mom likes to date different men then go live with your dad!!!

men rape for attention n the power of control.they cannot control themselves n they do it for their own pleasure of seeing others get hurt.the best advice to u is not to get influenced in by ur peers!!! u stil have so many long years later on to get experiences. dun ao anywhere with any guy on ur own.always let ur parents know where u r n anybody in school trying to take advantage of u.always go wit a girl fren that u trust n shares the same view of not having sex without reli understanding what the consequences are.good luck to u starting a teenager's journey in the real world!

Listen, kid. Last year was my first year of middle school, and don't worry...the kids are all talk. Some of the people were having sex, but no rape. Don't be worried.

I have two friends that were raped and i know its really not cool. One of my friends kinda has "issues" at home and has at least two very perverted uncles one of whom is getting out of prison soon. If I were you I would get a 21 year old friend that has a 45. that would do next to anything for you. Or a friend that is a first degree or higher in any martial art.

It is a pathetic way of convincing themselves that they are superior to women by controlling them and making them do what they don't want to do. I don't think that rapes are common in middle school, even though talk about sex is common.
