i stretch. i dont think people do it as much as they should. i wake up and just want to fall over, but if i stretch i get a little more awake, and i feel better. its such a small and simple thing to do.
your therapist is right, mediation is a really good idea too. i jst started a yoga class, and im hoping to learn some good meditation skills with it. i suggest both to you. you'll be amazed at how much better you'll feel

I log onto the Internet to read the latest news. I'm a little ADD so meditation wouldn't work for me. I do think of the things I am looking forward to like getting CDs and DVDs from the library.

I pet my two cats and tell them I love them. Then I turn on my favorite music and feed them, while I start making coffee or tea. I like to curl up on the coach and they come visit me while I enjoy my cup of brew. Yes, meditation is also a good way to begin your day. Or journal writing. I also like to relax in a hot shower. I find that a refreshing way to greet the day. Best wishes.

Save the meditation for the end of the day when you want to wind down. A brisk walk or jog will get your blood pumping and get you ready for the day.

Lay out your gym clothes the night before and when the alarm goes off don't think just put on your gym clothes and go work out or do yoga. Wake up your body and your mind at the same time.

When I was in the navy I would run a few miles, take a shower and drink my coffee. You would be amazed at how good you feel after running a few miles first thing in the morning.

I turn off the alarm and grab a clean shirt, put it on , and head for the kitchen. I put a pot of water on for oatmeal and two coffee cups in the microwave for postum. three minutes later I'm cooking breakfast and enjoying the morning news on TV.

I wake up and consider the time and what day it is. Then I usually take a shower and eat breakfast. Then I brush my teeth and head out.
If I had the time, I would consider reading or exercising.

Caffeine is not going to relax you, it is going to make you more jittery. I like Pilate's, but I hear fabulous things about yoga. The positions are not too difficult but they cannot be done unless your mind is clear. That is the ultimate clarity of the mind... I have my first session on Tuesday... =)
