I've read "A Separate Peace" and "Peace Breaks Out", excellent novels.

I first read "A Separate Peace" in the 8th grade. Gene's betrayal of Phineas made me realize I had a "best friend" who saw me as much a rival as an ally, and several months later I dumped the jackass, hardly spoke to him in high school. This novel certainly underscores how extreme competition by males can turn evil.

A Separate Peace is my FAVORITE book of all time. I love it. I read it MANY times and even psychoanalyzed it for a Psych Lit class in HS. Awesome symbolism, great themes. =)

Yes they most assuredly are. Too bad more people here don't avail themselves of REAL literature and good story telling and LEARN something.
