The interviewer is a man, just for the record. (And yes, it does matter. Women interviewers will often hire someone that looks dowdy over someone who looks more sophisticated. Why? I won't even answer that, haha. You already know.) But anyway, what are your suggestions?

Dress like the ladies who work in Dillard's do. Either a very nice pantsuit and dress shoes. Or a dress or skirt and blouse with heels or dress flats. Nothing too tight, too revealing, too short. Dress modestly so you will look professional. Good luck. (I love Dillard's)

I would never hire someone who came to an interview dressed slovenly or if they had not bathed (yes this has happened) so be clean cut and presentable at the very least.

Something in a pin stripe that makes your legs look longer. A blouse to match , shoes and light on the make up. Be yourself.
